1969
M/S Haroon Abdul Sattar (HAS) was founded by Mr. Haroon Abdul Sattar. The firm was named based on the goodwill and reputation Mr. Haroon had earned as a commodity trader and speculator.
LATE 1970s
HAS swiftly started with imports of commodities such as spices, cloves, cardamom, beetle nuts, cashew nuts, cassia, and rubber to cater to the local market.
1980s
HAS secured major stakes in the local industry and became renowned for its quality products and commitments. It evolved into one of the leading commodity trading houses of Pakistan.
2004
HAS expanded its operations in commodity trading and exports as the youngest son, Mr. Muhammad Omair Haroon expanded the company's exports to major international markets, leveraging the experience gained over four decades.
2005
A new company was formed as "Haroon Abdul Sattar Trading" as a separate business unit to handle all agricultural exports. HAS began exporting quality Basmati Rice to consumers worldwide. In its first year, HAS accounted for the trade of more than 195,000 bags of rice. In the following years, this number saw a phenomenal multi-fold rise due to increased demand. The major importing countries were from the Middle East and Europe.
